Performance
We designed this board to perform well in steep waves and tight pockets. It offers more snap, more responsive rails, and tighter arcs than our mid-length Sea Mink, without being twitchy. It’s got enough performance chops to reward good surfing, but it’s approachable and versatile enough to be an everyday board.
The Screaming Gull is pretty user friendly, but it definitely works best for intermediate or advanced surfers. It likes waist to head high waves with some punch, and also works great for poaching double-ups on the inside while longboarders paddle battle each other for set waves.

Technology
Each Blueprint Surf board features our Secret Composite Skin, and a custom designed, 3D printed core. They combine to make a board that is light weight and durable, that also sequesters about 50 soda bottles worth of recycled plastics. We fiberglass all of our boards ourselves, and we offer several different weights of layup. Each core structure is 3D printed to order and customized based on the surfer who ordered it. Since each board is printed to order, we also get to drop in design tweaks and improvements as soon they pass our testing. There’s no obsolete inventory, and no waiting for the next shipping container to clear customs. For more information on the benefits of our technology, check out our technology page:

Board Specifics
Outline: Short but sharp nose, wide under the chest with a gentle curve into a wide fish tail
Rocker: Moderate entry rocker, staged through the middle, with moderate exit rocker
Bottom Contour: Vee nose, flat through the middle and Vee in the tail.
Fins: Even with the rear foot, pushed out the the rail. We prefer a smaller, swept back set of twin fins rather than a more upright style twin.
